Leadership evolves throughout time, and in today's context, we must be much more conscious of how we handle our employees and how they see us. We will lose our staff and struggle to compete in a changing environment unless we shift away from a command & control leadership style where it exists.

Managers and supervisors will require strong leadership abilities to avoid turmoil when there is a lot of ambiguity and little consensus. It's critical to be interested in how people and their expectations have evolved through time as a manager or supervisor of a group of individuals. A "command and control" strategy is no longer effective or desirable. We must all modify our management styles to survive in a highly competitive society.

Over the previous 10 - 20 years, leadership and the way we care for our employees in a company have remained "different." To live, we've had to learn to do things differently.
